Description
Cuvée 4-5 is a unique Maison Mumm blend of Chardonnay (40%) and Pinot Noir (60%) from terroirs classified as Grand Cru.
Mineral, frank and lively, the Pinot Noir from Verzenay gives the wine fresh, generous, fruity aromas, while the Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Bouzy, south-facing vineyards, brings power and vinosity to the palate. The Chardonnay from Cramant produces an elegant, generous wine with fruity, tangy citrus notes, perfectly complementing the lively, straightforward Chardonnay from Avize.
To create Cuvée 4.5, these grapes are pressed and vinified separately, before being blended with reserve wines (20%). The liqueur de dosage (6 grams of sugar per liter), the final touch to the cuvée, is made from the same Grand Cru grapes. Aged for a minimum of four years in cellars and made from five Grand Cru wines, this champagne takes its name from its characteristics: Cuvée 4-5.
